The Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2019 results have been announced, and I am glad to note I got a commendation in the monochrome category for Assynt Evening.

Must do better next time … no, seriously, I am pretty chuffed, the standard this year was clearly very high, as you will be able to judge for yourself.

I am rather taken by the Wild Caledonia image from Kenny Muir’s winning portfolio, it’s beautifully, sensitively, done and represents the Scotland that I know, love and seek out, yet, also the Scotland that could be but isn’t really.

However, my firm favourite from this year’s winners gallery is Rocky Shore by Katrina Brayshaw, the image that won the Monochrome category.
