It seems to me that the single most dominant characteristic of the human race is we never learn from our mistakes, no matter how stupid and no matter how self-destructive. This might be the only human trait that could possibly convince me humans are not ‘just’ animals, though if that was the case, it doesn’t do much for the concept of imago dei.
