In case you wonder how long it takes for a tea bag to rot away, all I know is this one is over 20 years old, for that’s when I planted this bush … adding plastic to tea bags to make them stronger must be one of the most pointless uses of the stuff ever.

I am not much a tea person, I get my caffeine from coffee, and my ‘tea’ of choice is rooibos, but using loose tea is really not that inconvenient. At home I have a small tea pot with a stainless steel filter, and when we want to make more of the stuff, we use a cafetière (aka French press). And when camping, I have a reusable coffee filter that works just fine with tea too (it is plastic, and I’ll consider a stainless steel one when it come to replacing it, but it has lasted for over seven years of regular use now, and I don’t see needing to replace it any time soon).
