Still Alive
In case anybody reads this blog and wonders if I am still alive — I am, just been busy with ‘stuff’; there is a whole bunch of things I have wanted to write about, but didn’t get to, not least:
-
A petition to the Scottish Parliament to have MSP salaries cut to the Scottish median income (currently just about double that); the petition has been formally accepted by the authorities, now I am awaiting its formal publication — I’ll write more about that when it goes live,
-
I have been meaning to comment on Burnham’s ‘new’ Englishism — having read his Here is My Pitch to Scotland in the Scotsman, it became painfully clear to me that his ‘devolution’ perspective is intensely parochially English, and he doesn’t grasp the basics of the UK constitutional settlement beyond Englishire. Having then read his My Pitch to London in the Standard (the wonders of modern technology, Andy), I realised it’s even worse than I thought, these two pieces are largely verbatim copies with just place names replaced — it’s all just talk and bluff, but no substance.
-
I am going to write something up about the experience of installing residential solar in Scotland; ours been online for a couple of weeks now, but still caught up in the bureaucracy of it …
Anyway, all in due course.
